At The Intersection of Food & Real Estate: New Frontiers in Agriculture
Join ULI NNJ, AeroFarms, RBH Group and the Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) for a tour of AeroFarms’ indoor aeroponic farm in the heart of Newark’s Ironbound District; followed by a panel discussion with the Charles E. Fraser Chair on Sustainable Development & Environmental Policy, Ed McMahon, AeroFarms, the RBH Group and the ICC regarding new directions in sustainable urban farming for the global economy. AeroFarms is building its global headquarters in RBH’s Makers Village, and with the ICC has developed a model program for recruiting local workers to build and staff their indoor farm. This is a unique opportunity to learn from innovators at AeroFarms about a successful public-private partnership that centers around new techniques for growing delicious, nutritious leafy greens and herbs without sunlight, soil, or pesticides, thereby taking indoor vertical farming to a new level of precision and productivity with minimal environmental impact and virtually zero risk.
The panel discussion is open to all registrants and is capped at 100 attendees. AICP CM accreditation currently pending.
