Sandy One Year Later: Looking to the Future
September 18, 2013
New Jersey Future is partnering with Monmouth University, the Union of Concerned Scientists and the New Jersey Recovery Fund to present a full-day conference entitled Sandy One Year Later: Looking to the Future. The event will take place at Monmouth University on Oct. 29, 2013, the anniversary of the date on which Sandy made landfall in New Jersey. It will focus on what has been accomplished so far in the rebuilding process and where we need to focus going forward in order to ensure that the rebuilt New Jersey has the long-term resilience necessary to withstand future severe weather events. The conference will be live-streamed and videotaped.
A preliminary agenda may be found on the event web page. Sessions will focus on assessing the economic impacts of sea-level rise and other severe-weather events; on the needs and opportunities associated with planning long-term for these; and on innovations in infrastructure and community design that will enhance resiliency. As keynote speakers are secured the page will be updated.
